Three 2023 Summer of Quantum Short Course Participants Visit the LQC

On Friday, Jan 12, 2024, Maya Moore, Jacob Rivera, and Laura Zhou visited the Laboratory for Physical Sciences (LPS). These three impressive students were selected by the Summer of Quantum Short Course Co-Leads in a random drawing from among those who successfully completed the course. While at LPS, the invitees presented their current research interests and latest research results.  It was gratifying to hear that one student selected graduate research with a quantum computing emphasis after taking the Short Course!  The visitors also toured the LPS labs and Clean Room; participated in a Journal Club with Co-Lead Ari Mizel’s team; and networked with LPS researchers, staff, post-docs, and graduate students. Their visit concluded with a guided tour at the National Cryptologic Museum. We look forward to seeing what is in store for these promising students!
